About the role

Evon Medics, LLC is seeking a Research Assistant to support neuroscience research projects. The position involves recruiting and enrolling study participants, ensuring participant retention, and performing various research tasks under the supervision of the Translational Neuroscience Laboratory Director at Howard University.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and enroll study participants into the company research studies and clinical trials
  • Ensure retention of all study participants through regular check-ups via calls, text, and email
  • Aid in the design, execution, analysis, and evaluation of research projects
  • Ensure study protocol compliance with IRB approval and adherence
  • Achieve research goals and objectives specified for assigned projects within established priorities, timelines, and funding constraints
  • Maintain Excel and REDCap databases for research projects
  • Conduct regular statistical analyses on study-related data using SPSS or similar software
  • Assist with writing and editing NIH grants, scientific publications, and IRB/IACUC protocols
  • Contribute to the drafting of research manuscripts, organize project documentation, and prepare reports
  • Document and maintain data/records of studies/clinical trials
  • Perform laboratory maintenance and upkeep duties as needed
  • May be cross-trained on other job functions as needed

Other Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or neuroscience, psychology, behavioral biology, chemistry, or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Commitment to the project for at least one full year or longer
  • Two years of experience working in a scientific research organization or clinical trials
  • Knowledge of clinical, cognitive, and psychological assessments, and science laboratory techniques
  • Ability to write abstracts of scientific papers
  • Engaging, amiable, and charismatic personality with a collaborative mindset
  • Strong listening, organizational, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn clinical, cognitive, and psychological assessments, as well as science laboratory techniques
