Research Assistant

About the role

KBW Financial Staffing is working with a prestigious university in the Greater Boston area that is looking for a Research Assistant to join their team. This is a contract position with potential to convert.

Responsibilities

• Manage pre- and post-award sponsored research activities, including proposal preparation, award setup, grant monitoring, compliance, and closeout
• Prepare financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, effort certifications, cost-sharing, and under-recovery tracking for assigned accounts
• Partner with key stakeholders to improve processes and provide guidance and training on research administration
• Serve as a finance subject matter expert, advising faculty and staff on financial management across sponsored and non-sponsored accounts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of related accounting/finance experience
• Proficient with Excel
• Experience managing pre- and post-award sponsored funds with knowledge of federal guidelines
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly

Skills

• Experience with SAP, Cognos, and Brio is a plus

Pay

$32–$38/hr depending on experience
