About the Role
Avantor is looking for a dedicated Research Assistant to optimize our Biopharma / R&D organization. As a member of the bioprocessing team, you will contribute to life-changing science and help advance new patient treatments and therapies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 1+ years of experience with:
- Collaboration skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Minitab)
- Computer skills (PC/Macintosh)
- Compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality policies/procedures
- Familiarity with analytical techniques used in test method validation (HPLC/UPLC, GC-FID, GC-MS; Wet chemistry analytical techniques)
Preferred Qualifications
- Participation in project check-in meetings and adjusting plans/activities based on feedback to meet project deadlines
- Preparation of reports, publications, and oral presentations to advance projects or resolve process/product issues and customer complaints
- Hands-on knowledge of Empower, MassLynx, ChemStation, OpenLab, and Mass Hunter Software
- Experience developing, validating, and transferring analytical methods to internal and external QC laboratories for cGMP/Compendia finished goods release testing and stability studies/shelf-life determination
- Maintaining knowledge of cGMP, Compendia, FDA, ICH, and other regulatory agency requirements
Responsibilities
- Maintain instruments
- Order and maintain stock levels of chemicals required for testing
- Perform operations such as buffer prep, filtration, and chromatography using chemicals (both hazardous and non-hazardous)
- Follow written procedures for sample analysis
- Operate instruments safely and efficiently under the supervision of Scientists
- Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements
- Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
- Clean labware and the lab
- Ensure all documentation and test results are entered into e-notebook
- Keep accurate records and reports in e-notebook
- Ensure proper stock levels of consumables
- May travel to alternate Avantor sites
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Pay
The expected pre-tax pay for this position is $43,500.00 - $69,575.00. Actual pay may differ depending on prior experience and geographic location.
