Job Description

Under general supervision, responsible for the operation of a specialized educational/social science research area within a recognized unit. Assists with research project tasks to include recruitment, data collection, and the day‑to‑day operations of research projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting research projects according to the research plan/project.
  • Perform duties in support of research projects such as scheduling research subjects, obtaining research data, organizing data, researching records and entering data in a research database.
  • Assist in conducting literature reviews and maintain information.
  • Maintain information and literature, and stay current on literature and developments in the areas of research.
  • Prepare materials for publication.
  • Train and guide lower‑level research support personnel in techniques; explain and demonstrate instrument capabilities, operations, limitations and outcomes.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor important and complex projects concurrently.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes or other email software.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, including writing and preparing memorandums, letters, and other official correspondence.

Required Skills

  • Up to one (1) year related experience is required.
