Job Summary

The Research and Operations Manager, Economics, supports The Bike Shop's mission by combining expertise in evidence-based economics and computer science research with strong administrative skills. Reporting to Prof. Sendhil Mullainathan, this role oversees the lab’s financial, administrative, and compliance functions while fostering and coordinating institutional relationships across MIT and the University of Chicago.

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree and coursework in management, human resources, social work, administration, accounting, finance, computer science, AI, economics, or psychology
  • A minimum of three years of work experience in research, administration, management, customer service, human resources, accounting, or finance
  • Preferably, two years of this experience should be within or closely alongside a research-generating institution like a college, university, government research body, or large medical/hospital setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships and work within a team
  • Prioritization and attention to detail skills

Qualifications

  • Full-time, two-year appointment with potential for renewal based on funding, performance, and mutual agreement
