Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering, design, and continuous improvement of high-voltage transmission systems.
  • Execute electrical stress analysis and dielectric design on system components utilizing finite element analysis applications.
  • Refine component geometries to minimize electrical stress and enhance overall product reliability.
  • Spearhead the research and testing initiatives required to transition legacy insulation materials to environmentally friendly synthetic alternatives.
  • Tailor systems to meet specific customer requirements involving complex insulation and voltage parameters.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and procurement, to validate new components and source optimal materials.
  • Ensure all designs comply strictly with industry frameworks, including ANSI, NEMA, and IEC standards.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior experience utilizing finite element analysis software for symmetrical modeling, specifically tools like Maxwell or COMSOL.
  • Working knowledge of both traditional and alternative gas insulation systems.
  • Familiarity with global electrical manufacturing standards.

Qualifications

  • Must-Haves:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
  • Three to five years of professional engineering experience.
  • Direct, hands-on experience working with high-voltage power applications or in high-voltage testing environments.
  • A strong technical aptitude paired with a proven motivation to learn complex simulation tools.
