About the role
The Research Accounting Technician supports post-award financial management for the College of Sciences, ensuring compliance with university, federal, and agency guidelines. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Research Administration, this role works closely with faculty to manage sponsored research transactions and grant-related accounting.
Responsibilities
- Initiate and reconcile financial transactions, including no-cost extensions, re-budgets, and salary adjustments.
- Provide grant management support, including budget justifications and compliance navigation.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure adherence to funding regulations.
- Collaborate with faculty to facilitate efficient research administration.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Previous financial management experience and the ability to effectively manage budget and related financial matters.
- Knowledge of University Spending guidelines and research administration (pre and post award).
- Preferred: Certified Research Administrator (CRA).
