Position Summary
The Resale Store Assistant Manager supports the operational, financial, and volunteer functions of the Resale Shop. This role works closely with the Resale Shop Manager to ensure smooth store operations, excellent customer service, effective merchandising, and a positive volunteer experience.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field
- Experience: 1–3 years of retail experience, including supervisory or lead responsibilities
- Experience with merchandising, pricing, and customer service in a retail environment
- Core Competencies:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, dependable, and adaptable
- Comfortable leading volunteers and supporting a mission-driven environment
- Ability to operate a cash register and process transactions
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Supports the day-to-day operations of the resale shop, including opening and closing procedures as assigned
- Provides excellent customer service and resolves customer concerns promptly and professionally
- Steps in to perform key Resale Shop Manager duties during absences or as needed
- Affords assistance with merchandising, pricing, and product displays to maximize sales
- Helps maintain inventory flow, donation intake, and organization of the sales floor
- Engages with donors and customers, creating a welcoming and positive experience
- Affords assistance with ordering supplies within approved budget guidelines
- Maintains volunteer documentation and supports annual evaluations as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned to support resale shop operations
