Resale Merchandise & Pricing Specialist (Pricer) - Pittsburgh, PA

About the role

As a Pricer at RWB Thrift, you play a pivotal role in evaluating and setting prices for merchandise destined for the sales floor. In this role, you will assess a wide range of donated items, including clothing, furniture, electronics, and household goods, using your knowledge of quality, condition, brand recognition, and resale demand.

Responsibilities

• Accurately determine value based on condition, functionality, market trends, and customer buying patterns
• Evaluate merchandise for quality, completeness, safety, and resale appeal
• Apply appropriate pricing strategies to maximize sales while maintaining competitive pricing
• Utilize pricing tools and resources to maintain accurate and consistent pricing across all product categories
• Collaborate with Pricer Support personnel to ensure coverage and accuracy during absences
• Maintain documentation and records of pricing decisions and adjustments
• Communicate pricing strategies and updates to team members and management
• Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding pricing guidelines, customer service, and safety
• Support store initiatives and promotions through effective pricing strategies and timely execution

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail pricing or related field preferred
• Solid analytical skills with the ability to evaluate product value and market trends
• Attention to detail and accuracy in pricing assessments
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in using pricing tools and software applications
• Knowledge of thrift store operations and merchandise categories is a plus
