Res Care Nurse (G NH) - Full Time, 1st Shift

About the Role

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate total nursing care for residents. Participates in resident and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in a clinical setting. Responsibilities are carried out in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations, policies, procedures, ethical statements, and resident rights, subject to the employee handbook.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of the residents served.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of principles related to the aging adult and problems associated with aging.
• Assess data reflective of resident status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each resident’s needs.
• Provide care as directed by policy and procedure within the scope of an LPN/RN license.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Practical Nurse (LPN).

Preferred Qualifications

• Maximum exposure in regard to universal precautions.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Demands

• Full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, sitting, and standing.
• Lift 50 pounds or more, including work above the shoulders.
• Corrected vision and hearing in the normal range.
• Excellent verbal communication skills to perform daily tasks.

This position is classified at risk for possible occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens (HBV, HIV, etc.).
