About the role
Peraton is hiring a Requirements Technical Writer to join their Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year and work is performed at a customer location.
Responsibilities
- Support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community.
- Provide dedicated assistance in the preparation, review, revision and maintenance of technical documents to support the unit's mission.
- Write and edit technical documentation for all supported organizations activities;
- Create documentation for operations;
- Produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities - Standard Operating Procedures;
- Provide data definitions and data flow documentation;
- Format technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university and six (6) years of experience as a technical writer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Four (4) years of additional technical writer experience and a HS Diploma or GED may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Understanding of basic concepts (to include basic grammar concepts), ability to be responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents.
- Experience in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications.
- Experience conducting research and drafting technical requirements.
- Able to gather technical information and prepare written text.
- Skilled in use of multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc.
- Must understand basic concepts and write technical copy for various types of documents for a program/project of similar complexity.
- Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

- Basic understanding of SIGINT concepts and terminology.

- Details Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
