About the role

Maintenance Technicians will troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain valves, well heads, gas lines, and well extensions in the landfill field. This position requires a strong work ethic and resilience to perform in demanding field conditions, including exposure to odors, extreme temperatures, and rugged terrain in and around the landfill. Responsibilities involve working on uneven or sloped surfaces, performing trench work, and extending wells. This is a physically intensive and often dirty job, and candidates must be comfortable working in challenging outdoor environments. All duties performed must follow safety guidelines and have a safety-first mindset. Flexibility is essential, as this role, in addition to the standard shift, will be on-call and may require responding to unexpected issues and handling emergency situations critical to field operations. You must live within 45 minutes of the assigned site/area (Garland, TX) to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to established field maintenance procedures and design standards.
• Understand and properly identify and use materials and tools for well field operations and assist with inventory management.
• Become familiar with basic operating procedures for field maintenance duties ensuring time management in all duties.
• Make daily Well/Pump rounds following guidelines, capacity expectations, and time management.
• Install, pull, troubleshoot, clean, and test pump(s).
• Assist with extending gas wells, ensuring compliance with technical specifications with supervision.
• Perform vacuum surveys and identify vacuum surging.
• Perform well sounding.
• Develop basic knowledge of GCCS components, including:
  • Extraction wells and their function.
  • Remote wells and their function.
  • Horizontal wells and their function.
  • Condensation sumps and their function.
  • Vent recovery wells and their function.
• Develop basic knowledge of wellhead components and their functions.
• Develop skills in HDPE pipe fusion with supervision, including:
  • Understand the basic fundamentals in fusing HDPE pipe.
  • Fuse 2”, 3”, 4”, 6”, and 8” pipe under supervision.
  • Prepare for fusion collar welds.
  • Identify a bad weld.
• Perform basic heavy equipment operation skills, including:
  • Conduct equipment walk-around/inspection properly.
  • Understand safety risks and adhere to safety protocols of operating heavy machinery.
  • Basic knowledge of operating and maintaining equipment, including:
    • Grease ports.
    • Blow out air filters.
    • Maintain hydraulic fluid levels.
    • Keep equipment clean.
• Adhere to safety practices, use PPE, identify hazards, and address safety concerns respectfully.
• Ensure accurate and timely updates to the maintenance log.
• Communicate effectively with all teams on location to identify issues and contribute to increasing gas flow from the field.
• Assist in various tasks during upset conditions, including supporting maintenance techs, field techs, construction activities, and plant operations.
• Maintain housekeeping standards (clean and clear of clutter) in shop, storage, and UTV areas.
• Comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
• Follow established field/plant maintenance procedures and design standards.
• Participate in:

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must clear background check and drug test.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Must be punctual, dependable, and willing to work long hours if needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Good manual dexterity with physical ability to work extended hours, including climbing, bending, kneeling, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, and standing for long periods.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including exposure to odors, extreme temperatures, and rugged terrain.
• Ability to work weekdays, weekends, overtime, and respond to callouts during off hours.
• Ability to respond in a timely manner to any emergency.
• Must live within 45 minutes of assigned site/area (Garland, TX).

Qualifications

• Enjoys working outdoors in all elements.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools.
• Fundamentals of working with computers and navigating Microsoft applications.
• Ability to multitask and be self-directed.
• No previous experience is necessary.

Pay

$20–$24 hourly wage.
