Reporting Developer I - Power BI Developer

About the role

This is a data and analytics development role within the Gulfstream Business Technology organization for the Enterprise Reporting team. This role directly supports the suite of Gulfstream Enterprise Reporting applications. Responsible for developing requirements, solution development, testing, deployment, and support of enterprise reporting solutions.

Responsibilities

• Engages stakeholders and technology users in identifying, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
• Aids in defining test conditions and comprehensive test plans.
• Ensures applications processes are followed consistently and are in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, standards, etc.
• Prepares requirements, specifications, and business process maps.
• Documents, develops, tests, deploys, and supports reporting and data analytics development using a variety of technical tools in support of business requirements.
• Participates in design reviews for implementation projects.

Requirements

• Demonstrated capability to understand data structures and create effective visualizations and reports that drive business insight and value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
• Master's Degree may be used to offset one (1) year of experience; PhD may offset two (2) years of experience.

Skills

• Experience building basic Power BI (or similar application) reports and dashboards using existing datasets.
• Familiarity with Power BI Desktop, including: Creating visuals, Applying filters and slicers, Basic report formatting and layout.
• Introductory knowledge of DAX, such as: Simple measures (SUM, COUNT, AVERAGE), Basic calculated columns.
• Experience using Power Query for: Basic data cleansing, Simple transformations (filtering rows, renaming fields, changing data types).
• Basic understanding of relational data concepts, including tables, joins, and primary keys.
• Experience writing basic SQL queries (SELECT, WHERE, JOIN, GROUP BY) against SQL Server or Oracle.
• Ability to validate report results against source data with guidance.
• Ability to create charts and summaries using Excel and PowerPoint or similar applications.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new tools and concepts.
