About the role

KING TV is seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Journalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of reporting and a passion for breaking news.

Responsibilities

• Pitch engaging, exclusive, source-driven stories.
• Identify, write, and produce stories under deadline.
• Perform authoritative, active, and compelling live shots on linear broadcasts and streaming.
• Meet and develop sources to help pitch stories that beat the competition.
• Write solid scripts based on strong reporting, research, and documentation.
• Write web stories and produce mobile shorts tailored specifically for our digital platforms.
• Attend editorial meetings and offer story ideas daily.
• Write in an exciting, captivating, and authentic manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
• 3-5 years reporting experience preferred
• Documented ability to shoot video, light subjects, collect clean sound and edit under deadline
• Must possess solid news judgment, strong communication skills, creativity, and ethical decision-making skills
• Strong writing and production skills
• ENPS, EDIUS and Axis graphics experience is preferred
• Must be organized with the ability to work under constant deadlines
• Must be able to calmly handle live breaking news situations and changing events
• Proven social and digital content creation ability
• Speaking a second language is a plus

Pay Range

$34.61 - $42.31 USD

Qualifications

This position is full-time, hourly, and Union represented.
