About the role

KSDK-TV Saint Louis, the NBC TEGNA affiliate, is seeking a Multi-Skilled Journalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of reporting experience, strong news judgment, and the ability to produce compelling stories across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform authoritative, compelling live shots in developing stories and breaking news situations
• Develop story ideas and mine the community for sources
• Identify, write, produce and edit stories within a specific framework
• Research for facts and credibility
• Maintain and develop sources for reporting
• Shoot, write, produce and edit on-air and online content within deadlines
• Use creative production techniques like graphics and new media to enhance stories
• Use social media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content
• Attend editorial meetings and offer story ideas daily
• Write in an exciting, captivating and authentic manner

Requirements

• 1-3 years reporting experience preferred
• Solid news judgment, strong communication skills, creativity, and ethical decision-making skills
• Strong writing and production skills, including tease writing abilities
• ENPS, EDIUS and Axis graphics experience is preferred
• Organized with the ability to work under constant deadlines
• Calmly handle live breaking news situations and changing events
• Proven social and digital content creation ability
• Knowledge of Saint Louis a plus
