About the role

Join the #1 hospital in Wisconsin and help people by being the first point of contact for new patients and referring physicians, vendors, and the public. Support paging, messaging, and scheduling, and appointment services for UW Health. Provide remarkable customer service to UW Health staff, physicians, and patients. Confirm and cancel appointments on nights, weekends, and holidays for designated clinics. Take various calls ranging from connecting callers to inpatient rooms to notifying on-call physicians about organ offers and executing emergency plans.

Responsibilities

  • Use high-quality personal computer workstations and state-of-the-art telephone technology in a call center environment.
  • Utilize proprietary software programs specifically designed for call handling, message taking, appointment scheduling, and radio paging services.
  • Support UW Health staff, physicians, and patients by providing exceptional customer service.
  • Confirm and cancel appointments on nights, weekends, and holidays for designated clinics.
  • Take various calls ranging from connecting callers to inpatient rooms to notifying on-call physicians about organ offers and executing emergency plans.

Requirements

  • Average of 2 years of relevant work experience in a large automated call service center.
  • Familiarity with at least one form of call processing software.
  • Experience in a medical, call center, or customer service environment.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Business, or a related field is preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

Scheduled hours are from 11pm – 7am. The position is on a 3-day rotation with weekends required. When working in the office, you will work at 610 N Whitney Way, Madison, WI.
