About the role
The Security Reporter will join an editorial team expanding to provide in-depth, differentiated coverage of major themes and news in the rapidly evolving security space. You will develop and cultivate sources—including IANS' existing network of practitioners and subject-matter experts—to author compelling, uniquely insightful content aimed at CISOs and their teams. The role requires a minimum of 2 days on site in the Boston, MA office.
Responsibilities
- Produce multiple stories a week, focusing on generating compelling, unique content differentiated by the depth of its insight and the quality of its sources and reporting.
- Actively leverage IANS' faculty and expertise to add insights and context to breaking news events.
- Use IANS' existing library of content—including faculty-authored research, call summaries, transcripts, and proprietary white papers—to enhance reporting quality.
- Collaborate closely with IANS' research and content teams.
- Attend conferences and industry events for stories and source cultivation.
- Develop deep knowledge of IANS' customers and the security industry for informed and relevant coverage.
- Be available for off-hours work during major breaking news or related responsibilities.
Requirements
- At least one to two years of finance or business-related journalism experience, with a track record of enterprise reporting.
- Comfort with data and data-driven reporting, preferably with experience leveraging proprietary data to generate or enhance unique story angles.
- Ability to meet high expectations for productivity and turnaround time.
- Strong familiarity with process and process management.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a globally distributed and remote environment.

Pay
$56,000 - $70,000 + bonus
