About the role
Medicap Home Medical is seeking a full-time Repair & Receiving Technician for their Mobility department, based in Des Moines, IA.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain wheelchairs and mobility equipment, including power chairs and manual wheelchairs
- Replace batteries, tires, electronics, motors, controllers, and other components
- Receive, unbox, assemble, and inspect new equipment to manufacturer specifications
- Receive incoming shipments, verify orders, and enter inventory into our system
- Cook up and perform equipment pickup and delivery across our service area
- Complete service and maintenance records and process billing documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and work area
Requirements
- Prior service/repair experience in home medical equipment or a related field (preferred, but training will be provided to qualified candidates)
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift, position, and maneuver loads from 50 to 150 lbs. frequently, with frequent squatting, bending, and twisting
- Valid Iowa driver's license and the ability to safely drive a company van
- Basic comfort with a smartphone, iPad, and desktop computer
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Iowa driver's license
- Physical capacity exam
- Driving record check
Benefits
- Starting at $23/hr, depending on experience
- Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM schedule
