Repair & Maintenance - Class 1 Engineer
About the role
The Omni Viking Lakes Hotel is a part of the Viking Lakes mixed-use development, located near downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, with access to the Mall of America and airport. The hotel offers 320 rooms and extensive meeting and event spaces, including a 7,500-square-foot ballroom and a 4,410-square-foot event center.
Responsibilities
- Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.
- Perform inspections and routine maintenance on building systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning plumbing and electrical, hydraulic, etc.), including replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits.
- Use specialized measuring and diagnostic devices to evaluate how electrical equipment is working, building, or calibrating instrumentation.
- Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance.
- Maintain all electrical equipment throughout the property.
- Provide technical assistance to other engineers as necessary.
- Receive direction from engineering management on daily assignments or projects and complete within the time and manner specified or in accordance with hotel needs.
- Respond to work requests from the work request system (Synergy).
- Complete appropriate documents and logs for work assigned daily or as a project.
- Maintain all equipment according to equipment preventive maintenance program.
- Make all repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
- Understand how to detect trends that indicate developing issues.
Qualifications
- Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician.
- Valid license to practice profession.
- Minimum five years’ experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.
- HVAC professional certification is preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating).

Pay
Salary for this position starts at (based on experience): $24.00/hour.

Tools & Equipment
- Power tools and general engineering tools for HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment.
- Multi-Meter (Class III, UL Listed).
- Desktop computer, printer, telephone, fax, copier, telephone, to include other office supplies and equipment.
