RENTAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE

About the Role
The Rental Sales Representative promotes Caterpillar equipment and Allied product rental, affecting the rental of all products assigned to the Division's rent-to-rent fleet to all customers and markets in accordance with Carter Machinery Company, Inc. policies. They assist customers with equipment recommendations and technology advancements that enable greater productivity, ensuring all equipment deliveries meet the conditions of the rental agreement and monitoring customer satisfaction with products.
Responsibilities
- Develop objectives, set priorities, and implement ideas in a timely manner
- Understand construction phases, job situations, and project conditions for suggesting appropriate products to customers
- Achieve customer satisfaction with products through periodic scheduled visits and effective prospecting of potential new customers
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers
- Evaluate facts and make quick decisions while maintaining good judgment
- Operate equipment for demonstration purposes and tow vehicles
- Handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment
- Work shifts needed, including days, nights, and weekends as required
- Promote a positive customer experience

Requirements
- Self-starter with limited supervision capabilities
- High mechanical aptitude, understanding construction phases, job situations, and project conditions
- Excellent customer satisfaction skills and relationship-building abilities
- Innovative and creative thinking, quick decision-making, and good judgment
- Clean driving record and valid driver's license
- Strong PC skills and ability to adapt to changing technology
- Frequent travel required, including overnight or out-of-town trips via car or airplane
- Ability to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work shifts needed, including days, nights, and weekends to meet customer demands
- Physical requirements: sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms
Qualifications
- Minimum two years' sales experience
- Experience in a closely related industry, such as material handling, construction, engineering, or equipment distribution (plus)
