What You Will Do

• Rental Field Service Technicians are responsible for preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and service of Cat Rental Store rental equipment, including Caterpillar, JLG, Genie scissor and boom lifts and other allied equipment.
• This is a skilled field service mechanic position working largely independently and out of a company-provided field service truck, performing at a variety of customer locations and service shops.
• This individual will report to the Rental Store Manager or Service Manager and serve customers of the Rental Store.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain proper fluid levels in equipment.
• Notify customer of status, availability, or urgent concerns promptly.
• Operate equipment after service to determine there are no leaks or need for additional service repairs.
• Research and order parts for customer or company equipment.
• Test after repairs to determine that the problem has been corrected.
• Able to travel in an assigned region, and work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays, sometimes with short notice.
• Overnight travel may occasionally be required (averaging up to 25%).

Basic Qualifications

• Educational requirements: High school diploma required. Field Service Technician training and/or equipment service and maintenance training through accredited technical schools, equipment dealerships or manufacturer training preferred.
• Experience: Five (5) or more years’ experience with equipment diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting on construction equipment. Candidates with limited equipment experience, but with strong engine experience will be considered.

Compensation

Compensation for this position will be commensurate with candidate experience and background.
