About the role

The rental mechanic position is responsible for keeping all of our equipment clean and correctly maintained. This is a full-time position, scheduled up to 45 hours per week. Must have open availability to work days, evenings and weekends. This position will report to our Hartford City, IN store location.

Essential Functions

  • Provides excellent customer service to our internal and external customers.
  • Cleans all rental equipment.
  • Conducts repairs and maintenance on rental equipment; generates purchase orders for repairs or required maintenance.
  • Purchases small tools and any supplies needed to repair the equipment.
  • Inspects equipment on a regular basis to comply with company safety policies.
  • Affords assistance in updating DMV registration and current insurance.
  • Checks out customers at the rental counter, including completing contracts, taking payment and instructing customer on how to use the item.
  • Delivers and picks up rental items as needed.
  • Sets up and takes down rental equipment if requested.
  • Helps load and unload equipment as needed.
  • Helps out in lumber yard and inside the store as needed.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly uses hands to handle or feel; reaches with hands and arms; reads, talks or hears.
  • Frequently stands and walks.
  • Regularly lifts and moves up to 10 pounds and frequently lifts or moves up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, scheduled up to 45 hours per week. Must have open availability to work days, evenings and weekends.

Travel

Must have a valid drivers license to deliver and pick up rental equipment as needed.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED diploma or one to three years of related experience or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to three years knowledge of general machine maintenance.
  • Valid Driver's License required. Chauffeur’s license preferred but not required.
