About the role

The Rental Coordinator plays a crucial role in the rental business, ensuring that rental agreements are coordinated and processed efficiently. This position requires a self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, exceptional customer satisfaction skills, and a strong understanding of equipment applications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and process rental agreements for customer rentals of Caterpillar and allied equipment
  • Support the Rental team in achieving acceptable sales and profit levels
  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and interest
  • Use Microsoft products and other applications as needed, including Caterpillar’s “Dealer Business System” (DBS) and related rental software programs
  • Work additional hours to meet customer and business demands
  • Multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage competing demands
  • Work in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Promote a positive customer experience

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Self-starter with experience in the equipment rental industry and knowledge of equipment applications is preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and telephone communication skills
  • Technical aptitude
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and interest
  • Computer skills including Microsoft products and other applications as needed
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
  • Understand and practice effective sales techniques
  • Physical requirements: sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; occasionally lift up to 10 pounds; specific vision abilities required for close, distance vision, and adjusting focus
  • Must be able to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Must promote a positive customer experience

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in the equipment rental industry and knowledge of equipment applications is preferred.
