Responsibilities

  • Service the full Caterpillar product line, including earthmoving equipment, mining, forestry, generators, engines and more.
  • Train and develop to troubleshoot and diagnose diesel equipment problems, perform repairs, recondition and service heavy equipment and components.
  • Receive full-time benefits and not incur any education expenses during the apprenticeship.
  • Work various shifts including 1st, 2nd, and weekends, with some 3-day/week and 4-day/week options.
  • Continuously build your skill set and expand your technician career upon completion of the apprenticeship.

Requirements

  • Self-starter able to work with limited supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products, and service software required in position; able to complete service reports and provide pertinent details for work orders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to write service reports that accurately document diagnosis and repairs performed.
  • Prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and time cards in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Read and understand operating manuals.
  • Able to occasionally operate heavy equipment.
  • Self-directed, organized, able to interact with coworkers, and work as an integral part of a team.
  • Adequate driving record.
  • Able to work all shifts and overtime as needed to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Completion of a mechanical VoTech program or mechanical experience, preferred (i.e. automotive, electrical, HVAC, etc.).

Physical Requirements

  • Required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequent use of close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

Pay

Starting Compensation Range: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour.

Schedule

This is an excellent opportunity and upon completion, you’ll be equipped to continuing building your skill set and expanding your technician career. This includes working various shifts including 1st, 2nd, and weekends, with some 3-day/week and 4-day/week options.
