Rental Agent

About the role

The Rental Agent will assist customers, source rental equipment, negotiate rates, and manage rental agreements.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate rates, transportation, and rental purchase options for customers.
• Verify and ensure customers maintain appropriate insurance levels and procure/update insurance certification.
• Compute rental fees based on weekly or monthly rates to prepare rental agreements, specify charges and payment procedures.
• Maintain contacts with external freight handlers to arrange transportation when needed.
• Continuously update computer information files of equipment availability.
• Utilize computer systems to perform insurance checks on previous customers, assure availability of equipment, cut rental orders, and remove equipment from rental lists upon return.
• Communicate and coordinate information with Salesforce about equipment availability, status of on-rental machines, closeout reminders, etc.
• Notify Salesforce of new rentals by customers.
• Track and enter equipment into the system when receiving new equipment.
• Closely monitor and close out rentals, notifying Accounting for invoicing and Service Department for inspections.

Requirements

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with heavy equipment or combination of experience and education.
• Proficiency with computers, including equipment lookup, rental rate calculation, and discounts.
• Ability to handle customer issues diplomatically and solve problems promptly.

Pay

$70,000 - $90,000 annually.
