About the role
The Rental Agent will assist customers, source rental equipment, negotiate rates, and manage rental agreements.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate rates, transportation, and rental purchase options for customers.
- Verify and ensure customers maintain appropriate insurance levels and procure/update insurance certification.
- Compute rental fees based on weekly or monthly rates to prepare rental agreements, specify charges and payment procedures.
- Maintain contacts with external freight handlers to arrange transportation when needed.
- Continuously update computer information files of equipment availability.
- Utilize computer systems to perform insurance checks on previous customers, assure availability of equipment, cut rental orders, and remove equipment from rental lists upon return.
- Communicate and coordinate information with Salesforce about equipment availability, status of on-rental machines, closeout reminders, etc.
- Notify Salesforce of new rentals by customers.
- Track and enter equipment into the system when receiving new equipment.
- Closely monitor and close out rentals, notifying Accounting for invoicing and Service Department for inspections.
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience with heavy equipment or combination of experience and education.
- Proficiency with computers, including equipment lookup, rental rate calculation, and discounts.
- Ability to handle customer issues diplomatically and solve problems promptly.

Pay
$70,000 - $90,000 annually.
