Reno, NV: Light Picker/Packer: 2nd shift $18.00/hr

About the role

Penguin Random House is seeking dedicated workers for a 2nd shift position at their fulfillment center in Reno, NV. This position involves picking, packing, and shipping approximately 1.2 million books daily.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack customer book orders using a variety of methods including voice automation
• Process customer book returns in a variety of ways
• Use a computer and/or hand-held radio frequency (RF) equipment
• Requires basic reading and math skills
• Maintain basic physical abilities such as pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and occasionally up to 35 lbs.
• Be able to stand for an entire shift (minimal breaks provided)
• Be able to climb stairs and work on an upper mezzanine level
• Follow all safety rules and work well in a team-orientated environment
• Must be flexible to work in other areas based on business needs
• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
• Must maintain a good overall safety and attendance record
• Must be flexible and cross-trained in other areas to assist with work in other departments based on business needs

Qualifications

• Minimum age requirement is 16
• Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and occasionally up to 35 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for an entire shift (minimal breaks provided)
• Must be able to climb stairs and be comfortable working on an upper mezzanine level
• Must follow all safety rules and work well in a team-orientated environment
• Must adhere to all established safety and precaution measures
• Must possess the flexibility to work in other areas based on business needs

• Full benefits effective your first day of employment
