Renewables Civil Designer-BESS

About the role

Ulteig is seeking a Renewables Civil Designer – BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) to support the land development of BESS projects. The role involves collaboration with Ulteig’s civil, structural, and electrical design teams and clients to deliver innovative design solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work with the project engineer to complete detailed civil design solutions on projects as assigned.
• Apply industry design standards on development projects and coach others on the team.
• Utilize prior design experience to proactively address potential design issues.
• Help the team develop and refine design and drafting standards for projects.
• PRACTICE efficiency engineering as it pertains to design selection.
• Work closely with other engineering technicians and experienced engineers.
• Design will be primarily within AutoCAD Civil 3D with an emphasis on road layout, mass site grading, earthwork takeoffs, stormwater and erosion and sediment control plans.
• Demonstrate a wide degree of creativity and independence.
• Effectively communicate and interact with clients to ensure we are meeting their needs.
• Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.

Requirements

• Associate or technical degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience to a civil engineering technician role with 3-4+ yrs. of experience in design of large land development projects required.
• Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
• Proven experience in large scale site grading design, additions to existing civil designs, and earthwork calculations is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project) is expected.
• Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills are essential.
• Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
• Authorization to work permanently in the US is required.

Pay

Target Base Compensation Range: $38.00-$51.50*
