About the role

Ulteig is seeking a Designer – Renewables (Civil – Solar) to support the land development of Solar projects. The role involves collaboration with Ulteig’s civil, structural, and electrical design teams and clients to deliver innovative design solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the project engineer to complete detailed civil design solutions on projects as assigned.
  • Apply industry design standards on development projects and coach others on the team.
  • Proactively address potential design issues and help the team develop and refine design and drafting standards for projects.
  • Promote efficiency engineering as it pertains to design selection.
  • Work closely with other engineering technicians and experienced engineers.
  • Design primarily within AutoCAD Civil 3D, focusing on road layout, mass site grading, earthwork takeoffs, stormwater and erosion and sediment control plans.
  • Demonstrate creativity and independence, effectively communicating with clients to ensure needs are met.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.

Requirements

  • Associate or technical degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience to a civil engineering technician role with 3-4+ years of experience in design of large land development projects required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
  • Proficient in large scale site grading design, additions to existing civil designs, and earthwork calculations.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project).
  • Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills.
  • Analytical, self-motivated, and capable of working in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Pay

Target Base Compensation Range: $38.00-$51.50*
