Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Through thorough evaluation of operational data, plan a proper course of action and manage production capacity to reduce plant operating expenses while minimizing equipment downtime.
  • Inspect ongoing activities for safety and environmental compliance, and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Report and develop recommendations for corrective actions in instances of reoccurring shutdowns or equipment de-rating.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational requirements of the air permit, including CYCLE task tracking, documentation of compliance, performing emissions tests, and adjusting equipment to meet emissions limits.
  • Represent WMRE during third party testing and regulatory inspections, and coordinate with 3rd party vendors for scheduled plant maintenance, unscheduled downtime, compliance, and well-field issues.
  • Manage various relationships with power/gas purchasers as a first point of contact, ensuring compliance with scheduling requirements and contracts.
  • Inspect plant machinery and equipment, repair, maintain, and service all equipment in accordance with facility Standard Operating Procedures, equipment maintenance manuals, and WMRE policies and training.
  • Implement WM and WMRE safety policies and practices for all work activities, and ensure these practices are followed by other staff, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Procure plant supplies and replacement equipment efficiently by identifying needs in advance, managing vendors, and working within WMRE guidelines.
  • Promptly respond to call-outs of plant shutdowns during non-business hours to identify the cause and rectify/diagnose through appropriate repairs or adjustments.
  • Identify backup staff and assign call-out schedules to ensure at least one plant manager is available 24/7/365 for plant shutdowns and emergencies.
  • Maintain the facility spare inventory and provide a written inventory count twice annually.
  • Schedule and conduct plant tours as requested to support good community relations.
  • Participate actively in developing and implementing ongoing public relations between the plant and community to ensure a favorable outlook of the facility from both customers and the community.
  • Supervise activities to ensure the potential for use of the facility as a marketing platform.
  • Complete special assignments/tasks as required by WMRE Operations Manager, Market Area Gas Operations Manager, or Landfill District Manager.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
  • 5 years of relevant work experience diagnosing and repairing internal combustion engines and cooling systems
  • Valid drivers license
  • Fundamental knowledge of computer data entry and interpretation
  • Ability to manage fiduciary responsibilities
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 100 lbs
  • Basic knowledge of 12/24 volts DC circuits, 120/240/480 3ph AC circuits, and 4160 volt circuits
  • Familiarity with basic principles of building maintenance
