About the role
Join a team of more than 90 Morrison Healthcare dietitians at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia. At this Level I trauma center, dietitians serve on multidisciplinary teams across many specialty areas in the 675‑bed inpatient hospital and over 35 outpatient clinics. RDs participate in research and quality‑improvement projects, host dietetic interns, and are supported in pursuing leadership and community‑service experiences. Continuing education opportunities are plentiful from within the nutrition team and from the health system, which values ongoing training.
Current opening: one day per week (8 hours) at UVA Page Dialysis in Stanley, VA (off Route 340 Business between Luray and Alma). This Renal Registered Dietitian position provides comprehensive nutrition care to approximately 25 chronic kidney disease patients in an outpatient dialysis facility. The role offers a collaborative team environment with a network of 12 RDs who provide ongoing support, education, and professional networking. You will collaborate with a comprehensive interdisciplinary healthcare team to support optimal patient outcomes, educate physicians, patients, and other healthcare professionals on renal nutrition, and have opportunities for professional growth within a dynamic nutrition team. The facility also operates a robust onsite Food Pharmacy program promoting food security.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, individualized nutrition care to approximately 25 outpatient dialysis patients
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team in a chronic care setting
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Educate physicians, patients, and other healthcare professionals on renal nutrition and related topics
- Support the onsite Food Pharmacy program to promote food security
- Engage in professional development and contribute to a supportive nutrition team environment
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential with CDR registration
- Enthusiasm for renal nutrition, continuous quality improvement, and individualized care for chronic kidney disease patients
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong interest in renal disease states and clinical nutrition
- Ideally a minimum of one year of clinical experience post‑registration; candidates with less experience will be considered

Pay
Hourly rate: $28.80 – $43.27 per hour, based on experience.
Schedule
8 hours per week (one day per week).
