Remote Warehouse Associate, Milne Point Camp - Multiple Vacancies Open (Wage DOE & Federal Benefits - 3x3 ROT/Housing/Meals - North Slope, AK)

This Remote Warehouse Associate is responsible for purchasing, receiving, inventory, storing, and associated record keeping of food service and housekeeping products and supplies, as well as performing general cleaning and floor maintenance duties. This is a rotational position at the Milne Point Camp on the North Slope of Alaska with a 3x3 work schedule. The point of hire origin is Anchorage, AK.

Responsibilities

• Maintains storerooms, shelves, loading docks, and walk-in coolers by properly laying out and rotating products.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, vehicles, or shelves.
• Provides a variety of products to other personnel as needed.
• Keeps accurate inventories and records of materials on hand.
• Tracks weekly inventories from various villages, inputs data, and adheres to timelines.
• Works with other personnel to ensure all products and supplies are available and ready as needed.
• Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
• Orders materials, products, and supplies when they drop below established levels or as requested.
• Keeps accurate records of invoices on purchases and initiates/monitors claims to shippers or vendors.
• Prepares reports or invoices for accounts payable.
• Updates pricing and databases regularly.
• Inspects deliveries for conformity to standards, quantity, and quality ordered.
• Counts, weighs, and records the number of units of materials moved or handled.
• Delivers, unloads, loads, stocks, cleans, rotates, or picks up materials or products from various locations.
• Maintains, cleans, sweeps, and mops coolers, floors, storerooms, loading docks, and shelves on a regular basis.
• Handles special food service-related projects and prepares/cleans products for storage.
• Assists in maintaining cleanliness of associated areas and training staff.
• Cleans work area, machines, and equipment to keep assigned areas neat, safe, and orderly.
• Stacks, assembles, or bands materials together.
• Uses various types of hand trucks to facilitate movement of materials or products.
• Operates industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Assists food service personnel with general day-to-day activities.
• Notifies supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met.
• Supervises staff and performs other duties pertinent to the department or unit’s success.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in purchasing, material handling, inventory control, stocking, shipping, and receiving of perishable items.
• At least one year of experience working with commercial cleaning equipment and cleaning in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Intermediate computer skills in inventory control, product ordering, purchasing, and managing warehouse operations.
• Intermediate skills with QuickBooks Pro, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for the past three years to be eligible under the vehicle insurance policy.
• Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements, including drug test, physical and fit-for-duty assessment, and hearing test. Applicants not located near a testing facility are responsible for travel expenses to the nearest testing facility.
• Ability to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
• Ability to make decisions with little to no supervision.
• Ability to stand for 12 hours per shift during the scheduled rotation.
• Ability to live in dormitory-style settings and meet cleanliness requirements of the remote camp.
• Must speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.

Candidates Residing Outside Anchorage Area

• For pre-employment testing, Anchorage will be considered the point of hire (except for drug testing, which will be conducted near the candidate’s place of residence).
• Employees are responsible for travel expenses and accommodations related to pre-employment tasks in Anchorage, including safety training, physicals, DOT physicals, fit-for-duty assessments, audiograms, and other required testing.
• For Alyeska contracts, pre-employment testing will be scheduled near the candidate’s area of residence within Alaska, unless the region lacks necessary service providers.
• All employees are responsible for expenses related to reporting to the point of hire (Anchorage, AK) for scheduled trips to remote locations.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed to arctic conditions. Noise level: Moderate to loud. This is a remote camp setting.

• Must constantly be able to stand, walk, climb, push, pull, use hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Must be able to travel by plane and/or bus to remote camps.

Fit for Duty Test

• Lift 50 lbs. from floor to knuckle x2.
• Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist x2.
• Lift 40 lbs. from floor to shoulders x2.
• Lift 40 lbs. from floor to crown x2.
• Push horizontally with a peak force of 68 ft-lbs. with two hands.
• Pull horizontally with a peak force of 75 ft-lbs. with two hands.
• Perform alternate cross-over toe touches x5 each side, self-paced but continuous.
• Functionally squat x10, self-paced but continuous.
• Kneel on one knee and stand, then repeat on the opposite knee x5 for each knee, self-paced but continuous.
• Climb up and down 12 steps x4 for a total of 48 steps, self-paced but continuous.
• Climb up and down 12 steps x4 for a total of 48 steps while carrying 30 lbs. in one hand and using the other hand to grasp a railing for safety, self-paced. Allow a 30-second rest period after 24 steps.
