Job Description

The Senior React / Next.js Engineer is a hands-on consultant responsible for designing, building, and delivering scalable enterprise web applications. This role requires advanced experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, frontend architecture, API integration, and modern software engineering practices.

Required Technical Skills

• Advanced experience developing production applications using React and Next.js.
• Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript development experience.
• Strong understanding of React architecture, including components, hooks, context, rendering behavior, and composition patterns.
• Experience with Next.js App Router, server and client components, route handlers, middleware, layouts, and server-side rendering.
• Demonstrated ability to design modular, reusable, and maintainable enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of separation of concerns, dependency management, interface design, and component composition.
• Experience organizing large applications by domain, feature, or business capability rather than only by technical file type.
• Experience building reusable component libraries and working with design systems.
• Experience integrating REST APIs, third-party services, and enterprise backend systems.
• Experience with asynchronous processing, error handling, retries, loading states, and resilient API integration.
• Experience with frontend state-management and data-fetching approaches such as React Context, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, TanStack Query, or similar tools.
• Experience building complex forms using validation libraries and reusable form patterns.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, accessibility, and browser behavior.
• Experience implementing authentication and authorization using OAuth, OpenID Connect, JWTs, sessions, and role-based access.
• Experience with relational databases, data modeling concepts, and backend application integration.
• Experience with Git, pull-request workflows, automated testing, CI/CD, and production deployment.
• Experience with testing tools such as Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Able to evaluate architectural tradeoffs involving maintainability, performance, scalability, security, usability, and delivery speed.
• Enterprise Application Design: Candidates should have experience designing applications that include several of the following: Multi-tenant application architecture, Role-based access control, Complex business workflows, Shared design systems and component libraries, Feature flags and configuration management, Audit logging and activity history, Enterprise authentication and single sign-on, API abstraction and service layers, Domain-oriented application structure, Data tables, filtering, sorting, and pagination, Complex forms and validation, Background processing and long-running operations, Error boundaries and centralized error handling, Internationalization and localization, Performance monitoring and observability, Secure handling of sensitive application data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving as a senior engineer or technical consultant on enterprise application projects.
• Experience leading a frontend or full-stack technical workstream from discovery through production deployment.
• Experience modernizing or refactoring large React or Next.js codebases.
• Experience creating shared component libraries, internal frameworks, or reusable application patterns.
• Experience with Node.js and backend frameworks such as NestJS, Express, or Next.js route handlers.
• Experience with monorepo tools such as Nx, Turborepo, or pnpm workspaces.
• Experience with Storybook or similar component-development tools.
• Experience with micro-frontend or modular frontend architectures.
• Experience with AWS or Azure application-hosting and integration services.
• Experience with Docker, infrastructure as code, and cloud-based deployment pipelines.
• Candidates should understand how enterprise web applications are deployed and operated, but deep cloud-platform specialization is not required.
