About the role
Zachary Piper Solutions (ZPS) is seeking a Senior Frontend Developer to support a high-visibility modernization program. The Senior Frontend Developer will play a key role in transforming legacy Excel-based workflows into modern, scalable web applications while supporting the continued evolution of the SEC's enterprise Search platform. This position is fully remote for candidates working East Coast (EST) hours.
Responsibilities
- Develop responsive, modern web applications supporting the SEC Search platform
- Build intuitive user interfaces that replace legacy Excel-based workflows
- Develop reusable React components and scalable frontend architecture
- Integrate frontend applications with FastAPI backend services and RESTful APIs
- Build interactive data visualization components for financial positions, trading activity, and equity data
- Collaborate with backend developers to design, consume, and optimize APIs
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility, application performance, and responsive design
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following software development best practices
- Troubleshoot and debug complex frontend and application issues using command-line tools and Python
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, code reviews, and retrospectives
- Support modernization efforts across both the SEARCH and ARTEMIS platforms
- Contribute to application architecture, technical design discussions, and continuous process improvements
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with React, including component architecture, state management, hooks, and lifecycle methods
- Advanced Python development experience with strong command-line proficiency
- Strong SQL experience including complex queries, joins, data analysis, and database interaction
- Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs and FastAPI services
- Experience building responsive, data-intensive web applications
- Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern ES6+ features
- Experience debugging applications across frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers
- Strong understanding of Git version control and collaborative development workflows
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered

Pay
Salary: $150,000 - $165,000
