Responsibilities
- Contacting client policyholders and their agents via phone and email.
- Evaluating client’s policyholder’s business operations and employee duties to properly classify risks.
- Examining, verifying, and recording pertinent information from financial records such as payroll reports, and general ledgers.
- Completing detailed and accurate audit reports that are compliant with governing regulatory agencies and independent State bureaus.
- Maintaining knowledge of all workers' compensation class code changes published by NCCI and State workers' compensation bureaus.
- Handling inquiries from policyholders, brokers, or carriers regarding audit results.
- Resolving audit disputes and bureau test audits.
- Presenting status of audit inventory on a regular basis to management.
Requirements
- Associates’ degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 1-year Premium Audit experience.
- A functional home office and Laptop running Windows 10.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Strong problem solving, reasoning, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity.
- Excellent time management and strong verbal/written communications.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and work under limited/remote supervision.
- Ability to review and make recommendations to current workflow processes for improvement and automation opportunities.
Qualifications
- Basic requirements include an Associates’ degree in accounting, finance, or related field, 1-year Premium Audit experience, a functional home office and Laptop running Windows 10, proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong problem solving, reasoning, and decision-making skills, ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity, excellent time management and strong verbal/written communications, ability to effectively multi-task and work under limited/remote supervision, and ability to review and make recommendations to current workflow processes for improvement and automation opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 or more years’ experience working in Commercial Insurance Premium Audit Department or Premium Audit Fee Company.
- Large, multi-state premium audit experience.
- Associate in Premium Auditing (APA) or Certified Insurance Premium Auditor (CIPA).
- Experience with Visual Audit.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range represents the low and high end of the base pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary depending on factors such as experience and location.
