Remote Piloting Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining simulators, testbeds, and software tools for pilot training and human-in-the-loop testing.
• Serving as a technical lead on software release, verification, and flight test processes.
• Collaborating with engineering teams to create test plans, execute tests, troubleshoot issues, and drive problem resolution.
• Developing automated test cases and supporting flight test UI software.
• Hands-on maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of simulators and test environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Private Pilot certificate or higher.
• 3+ years experience testing integrated hardware/software safety-critical systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and/or Javascript.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills.

Skills

• Experience managing software releases, flight operations, automated testing, and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• 5+ years developing user-facing software.
• Familiarity with UAVs or spacecraft systems.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
