About the role

Smart1 Management Solutions, LLC is a small, woman‑owned consulting firm providing business and management consulting services to nonprofits and government clients. We are seeking a Remote Pilot Operator (RPO‑EnRoute) to join our Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team, partnering with SAIC at the Jacksonville ARTCC to support FAA air traffic controller training. In this role you will act as the pilot and other controllers within the air traffic controller training simulator, operating a simulated radar display and voice communication system to replicate pilot and remote ATC facility actions during medium‑ and high‑fidelity exercises.

Responsibilities

• Play the role of the pilot and other controllers in the Air Traffic Controller training simulator.
• Operate a combination of a simulated radar display and voice communication system to simulate pilot actions and communication of remote ATC facilities.
• Receive voice commands from students and input proper entries into the automated system to simulate pilot actions.
• Translate displayed information into appropriate ATC terminology.
• Respond to students via the voice communication system using proper phraseology.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• High School Diploma.
• Confidential security clearance preferred.
• Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Jacksonville, FL before starting work.
• Work location: In person.

Skills

• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team (Multimedia Developers, Quality Assurance, Instruction System Designers, Subject Matter Experts, Instructors).
• Experience and certification in ATC Tower, TRACON, or En Route simulation lab.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of FAAO JO 7110.65.
• Effective team‑building skills.
• MS Office Suite proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
• Basic familiarization of current technological tools (tablets, notebooks, applications, etc.).
• Basic familiarization or experience with pilot/controller communications or phraseology.
