Remote Operations Coordinator - Full-time, Days

About the role

The Operations Coordinator, PB Coding is responsible for performing complex medical coding using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes by abstracting information from medical records. They collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation, billing, and coding, providing training and feedback to improve compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review records to assign appropriate codes with a minimum of 95% accuracy
• Resolve coding edits
• Ensure charges are captured correctly through reconciliation processes
• Communicate coding guidelines, review documentation, and assist with claim denials and appeals by providing detailed code and modifier information
• Administer administrative support and collaborate with revenue cycle teams to optimize reimbursement

Requirements

• Relevant certifications such as RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or CCS
• Up to two years of experience

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of disease processes, anatomy, pharmacology
• Attention to detail
• Proficiency in coding standards and policies

Skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
