Remote Monitoring & Diagnostic Engineer
Join our Baker Hughes Cordant™ Services Remote Monitoring team! The Cordant™ Services Remote Monitoring & Diagnostic (RM&D) team provides machinery and monitoring system support to customers worldwide from strategically located remote monitoring centers. The team connects to real-time diagnostic information from customer facilities such as power plants, refineries, petrochemical plants, wind farms, and offshore oil & gas production assets.
The preferred location for this role is the North America Remote Monitoring hub in Minden, Nevada.
About the role
As a Remote Monitoring & Diagnostic Engineer, you will carry out remote machinery and system-related monitoring activities. You will review available data (vibration, temperature, and process) and monitoring systems (System1 & Cordant) to identify potential issues. You will also log and track issues using a web-based case management portal and prepare technical reports as per customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review remote machinery and system notifications and assess associated data to validate potential issues.
- Log and track issues using the web-based case management portal.
- Produce technical exceptions and periodic reports for presentation to the customer.
- Collaborate and troubleshoot with Subject Matter Experts to resolve more complex customer machinery and system-related issues.
- Execute work according to Cordant™ Services guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering or Technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of working experience in Condition Monitoring within a similar customer delivery role.
- Minimum ISO Cat II Vibration Analysis Certification.
- Knowledge and experience with mechanical vibration, rotating machinery vibration and/or diagnostics, rotor dynamic analysis, machinery balancing, and alignment.
- Ability to interpret and understand machinery mechanical and electrical system drawings and specifications.
- Experience monitoring a wide range of critical and balance plant machine types covering fluid film and rolling element bearings.
- Working knowledge of on & off-line condition monitoring systems and associated transducers.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize & organize work, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel.
- Proficiency in using MS Office Applications.
Previous background in operating plant experience, OEM experience, or industrial co-op program is highly desirable.

Pay
The annual pay scale for this position is between $83,630.00 and $155,350.00. The pay range reflects the projected hiring range for new hires in some U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits.
