Job Description

The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

One of the following certifications is required upon hire: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or EMT Basic Certification (EMT).

Education

An HS Diploma is required.

Certification/Licensure

A CCMA, CMA, RMA, EMT-B, or Paramedic certification is required.

Experience

No prior experience is required.

About the Role

This is a remote/telehealth role with a sign-on bonus available for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care tasks and procedures and administrative duties (as appropriate).
  • Demonstrates the ability to objectively assess a specific situation from a number of viewpoints, consider an array of alternatives, assist with the development of realistic action plans, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Develops the specific skills and knowledge required of medical assistants, effectively interacts with other departments, and follows department and system policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Works productively and efficiently in daily operations, utilizing appropriate resources that are safe, effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible.
  • Obtains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One of the following certifications: CCMA, CMA, RMA, EMT-B, or Paramedic.
  • No prior experience required.

Qualifications

  • Objective assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
