Remote IT Support Assistant — Help Desk + Coding/Scripting

About the role

Freelance Remote IT Support Assistant position combining traditional remote IT support with occasional technical research, scripting, and basic coding-related tasks. This is a contract role for ongoing technical support and research work.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot common Windows, software, browser, account, and networking issues
• Assist with software installation, configuration, and documentation
• Research technical problems and identify practical solutions
• Work with basic scripts, code snippets, APIs, or command-line tools
• Provide clear written updates on completed tasks and issues
• Handle general remote IT support as needed

Requirements

• Previous experience with IT support, help desk, systems administration, technical support, or a similar role
• Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, Bash, PowerShell, PHP, Go)
• Comfortable reading, understanding, and making basic changes to code or scripts
• Strong troubleshooting and online research skills
• Good written English
• Reliable internet connection

Pay

$15 - $30/hour

Location: Fully remote (North America/EU preferred)
