Remote Housekeeper, Endicott Camp - Multiple Vacancies Open (Wage DOE & Federal Benefits - 3x3 ROT/Housing/Meals - North Slope, AK)
Multiple vacancies—don’t miss your chance to join our team. This remote housekeeper position provides a wide variety of cleaning services and related duties to maintain remote camp and industrial facilities, food service areas, office facilities, and similar areas in a clean and orderly condition.
Responsibilities
- Cleans, sweeps, vacuums, mops, or restocks hallways, stairways, offices, food preparation or break areas, kitchen areas or equipment, laundry rooms, clinics, living areas, work areas, off-site areas, common areas, restrooms, public areas, or other similar areas.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, extracts, waxes, buffs, vacuums all types of floors.
- Dusts both low and high areas.
- Wipes down or cleans various surfaces using appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions.
- Removes and properly disposes of discarded materials; may compact trash.
- Removes and transports trash to appropriate disposal areas.
- May change light bulbs and perform very light facility maintenance.
- May keep building entryways free of snow and debris.
- May operate a vehicle to work at remote locations.
- May perform special duties such as laundry or periodically scheduled cleaning tasks.
- May be designated as a night or day janitor with varying duties or assignments.
- Notifies supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met.
- Performs other duties pertinent to the department or unit’s success as assigned.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least one (1) year of experience with commercial cleaning equipment and industrial cleaning processes.
- At least one (1) year of experience in commercial housekeeping.
- Must pass all pre-employment contract requirements, which may include: drug test, physical and fit-for-duty assessment, and hearing test. Applicants not located near a testing facility are responsible for travel costs to the nearest testing facility.
- Must cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
- Must make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
- Must be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation.
- Must live in dormitory-style settings and meet cleanliness requirements of the remote camp.
- Must speak, understand, read, and write English as required by the contract.
- Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.
Schedule
This is a rotational position with a 3-week on & 3-week off schedule, working twelve (12) hours per day, supporting the Endicott Camp on the North Slope. Point of hire origin is Anchorage, AK.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Environment: Remote camp setting with frequent exposure to arctic conditions. Moderate to loud noise levels. Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or toxic/caustic chemicals.
Physical demands: Must constantly stand, walk, climb, push, pull, use hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Must be able to travel by plane and/or bus to remote camps.
Fit-for-Duty Test Requirements:
- Lift 35 lbs. from floor to knuckle x2.
- Lift 35 lbs. from floor to waist x2.
- Lift 8 lbs. from floor to shoulders x2.
- Lift 8 lbs. from floor to crown level x2.
- Carry 25 lbs. with two hands for a minimum distance of 50 feet.
- Perform alternate cross-over toe touches x5 each side, self-paced but continuous.
- Functionally squat x5, self-paced but continuous.
- Kneel on one knee and stand; repeat alternate kneeling sequence x5 for each knee, self-paced but continuous.
- Climb up and down 10 steps x5 for a total of 50 steps, with a 30-second rest after each set of 25 steps, self-paced.
- Climb up and down 10 steps x5 for a total of 50 steps while carrying 25 lbs. in one hand and using the other hand to grasp a railing, with a 30-second rest after 25 steps, self-paced.
- Climb a slanted ladder with 2 rungs x2 repetitions for a total of 4 rungs, self-paced but continuous.
Candidates Residing Outside Anchorage Area
- For pre-employment testing, Anchorage, AK, is considered the point of hire (except for drug testing, which will be conducted near the candidate’s place of residence).
- Employees are responsible for travel expenses and accommodations related to pre-employment tasks in Anchorage, including safety training, physicals, DOT physical/medical card, fit-for-duty assessments, audiograms, or other required testing (e.g., NSTC, APICC training, security licensing).
- For Alyeska contract candidates residing in Alaska, pre-employment testing will be scheduled near the candidate’s area of residence unless local service providers are unavailable.
- All employees are responsible for expenses related to reporting to Anchorage, AK, for scheduled trips to remote locations.
