REMOTE: Fee Motion Attorney

Robert Half Legal is partnering with a prominent plaintiff-side consumer warranty and automotive litigation firm to identify a Litigation Attorney for a fully remote, direct-hire opportunity.

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with strong motion practice experience, particularly in the area of attorneys’ fees, who thrives in a high-volume litigation environment and is looking to join a collaborative, fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Preparing substantive and persuasive motions for attorneys’ fees in both California state and federal courts
• Drafting reply briefs that effectively counter opposition arguments with strong legal reasoning and strategic advocacy
• Appearing at hearings and presenting oral argument on fee motions, including addressing lodestar calculations, enhancements, and court questions
• Analyzing and applying statutory bases for fee recovery, including arguments involving fee multipliers and related enhancements
• Partnering with internal support personnel to gather billing records, declarations, and other supporting materials needed for fee applications
• Overseeing a busy pipeline of fee motion assignments and related deadlines
• Handling additional litigation responsibilities as needed, including motion drafting, court appearances, and general case support
• Managing an individual caseload with a high degree of independence while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality work product

Requirements

• Active membership and good standing with the California State Bar
• 4+ years of litigation experience, including meaningful experience drafting and arguing attorneys’ fee motions
• Strong command of fee-shifting statutes, lodestar analysis, and multiplier-based arguments
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
• Proven ability to manage numerous deadlines and matters simultaneously in a deadline-driven practice
• Comfortable working collaboratively with attorneys, legal support teams, court personnel, and opposing counsel
• Strong technical proficiency with litigation technology, case management platforms, and billing systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in consumer protection, Lemon Law, or complex civil litigation
• Prior experience handling oral argument, especially on motions and fee-related hearings

Pay

Salary range of $160,000 to $200,000 annually, plus the opportunity to earn a billing bonus of up to $20,000.
