Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for pavements, earthworks, drainage, and general roadworks projects.
- Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Analyse project documents to identify materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
- Develop competitive and accurate quotes for clients based on project scope and timelines.
- Maintain and update cost databases, pricing sheets, and estimation templates.
Technical Review & Documentation
- Review engineering drawings, site plans, and tender documents to ensure full understanding of project requirements.
- Identify potential risks, omissions, or discrepancies in project documentation.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation for proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to clarify scope and confirm assumptions.
Client & Internal Coordination
- Communicate with clients to gather missing information, clarify requirements, and provide updates on quotes.
- Cook up with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and availability.
- Support the operations team by providing cost insights and recommendations during planning and execution.
Process & Quality
- Ensure all estimates align with company standards, industry best practices, and safety requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimation processes, tools, and workflows.
- Maintain organised records of estimates, revisions, and submitted proposals.
