Key Responsibilities
- Represent employers in employment litigation matters involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage-and-hour issues.
- Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery, and motions, including dispositive motions such as Motions for Summary Judgment.
- Conduct or assist with depositions, mediations, hearings, and settlement negotiations depending on seniority level.
- Collaborate with partners and attorneys across multiple offices on case strategy, risk assessment, and litigation planning.
- For senior/counsel roles: independently manage a litigation docket, communicate regularly with clients or EPLI carriers, and provide strategic case evaluations.
- For junior/mid-level roles: support case teams with research, drafting, discovery, and litigation preparation while developing toward greater independence.
Key Qualifications
- Employment litigation experience; strong writing and research ability; comfort working independently in a remote environment.
- Junior/Mid-Level (3–6 years): Significant employment litigation experience; proven ability to manage matters from intake through resolution; excellent motion-practice skills.
- Senior/Counsel Level (7+ years): Proven ability to manage matters from intake through resolution; excellent motion-practice skills; EPLI experience preferred for Special Counsel.
- All Levels: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; Active CA bar membership; Ability to thrive in a fully remote, nationally coordinated practice.
