Description Summary

The Credit Service Specialist role offers growth and advancement opportunities within the Credit Administration Department. The Credit Service Team at Huntington provides personalized customer service across various delinquent products. This position involves assisting customers with their financial difficulties through proactive communication and problem-solving.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Contacts delinquent customers via telephone or mail to collect past due payments or arrange alternative payment plans.
• Maintains and updates customer files related to collection activities.
• Utilizes basic skip tracing techniques to locate delinquent customers.
• Recommends actions to management regarding repossession, bankruptcy, and foreclosure cases.
• Arranges for appropriate bank and/or legal action based on account analysis and manager’s directives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• One year of customer service experience
• Goal-oriented and self-motivated
• Comfortable using a computer and keyboard
• Effective communication skills over the phone

Preferred Qualifications

• Call Center experience
• Some outbound sales experience
• Desire to educate and assist troubled customers
• Ability to adapt to change and embrace continuous improvement
• Knowledge of consumer and collection law
• Working knowledge of CACS, RMS, and HOGAN systems
