REMOTE - Credit Services Specialist 1

Description Summary

The Credit Service Specialist role offers growth and advancement opportunities within the Credit Administration Department. The Credit Service Team at Huntington provides a "Category of One" customer service experience, potentially cross-training specialists on all non-real estate delinquent products. This role assists customers in resolving their financial difficulties through proactive communication and problem-solving.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Contacts delinquent customers by telephone or mail to collect past due payments or arrange alternative payment methods.
• Establishes and maintains files related to collection activities.
• Utilizes basic skip tracing techniques to locate delinquent customers.
• Recommends actions for management regarding repossession, bankruptcy, and foreclosure cases.
• Arranges for appropriate bank and/or legal action based on account analysis and manager’s direction.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• One year of customer service experience
• Goal-oriented and self-motivated
• Comfortable using a computer and keyboard
• Effective communication skills over the phone

Preferred Qualifications

• Call center experience
• Outbound sales experience
• Desire to educate and assist troubled customers
• Ability to adapt to change and embrace continuous improvement
• Knowledge of consumer and collection laws
• Working knowledge of CACS, RMS, and HOGAN systems

Schedule

Shifts available: 10am-7pm or 12pm-9pm Eastern, Monday - Friday. Occasional rotating Saturday shift from 8am-1pm Eastern.
