REMOTE - Associate Director - Native American Financial Services PM
Origination, Analysis, and Execution
The Associate Director – Corporate Specialty and Govt Banking Portfolio Manager will originate, analyze, structure, and execute commercial loan transactions while meeting credit and regulatory requirements. This includes deepening and retaining profitable customer relationships by proactively evaluating and mitigating associated business risks and opportunities, in accordance with Huntington policies, procedures, and Guiding Principles.
Risk Management and Portfolio Administration
- Owns primary responsibility for the credit and monitoring of the Commercial portfolio risks.
- Responsible for underwriting quality, portfolio administration, and credit quality of assigned portfolio, working directly with the Team Leader, Regional Commercial Management, and Regional Credit Officer.
- As appropriate, assists in optimizing customer relationships by working directly with Relationship Managers, Treasury Management, and other team members to effectively grow fees, deposits, and portfolio revenue by presenting practical Huntington financial solutions to customers.
Delinquencies, Collateral Exceptions, and Portfolio Reviews
- Maintains and confirms credit worthiness of customers.
- Gathers, reviews, and tracks appropriate documentation from applicants and clients such as financial statements, covenant compliance, and other due diligence items.
- Manages delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base, portfolio reviews, specialized reporting, soft exposure annual reviews, criticized loans, etc.
Documentation and Compliance
- Performs legal documentation experience.
- Thorough knowledge of various software programs including Word and Excel, and the ability to quickly learn additional systems/software.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5 or more years of Commercial or Corporate Banking Portfolio Management experience including underwriting
- Prior experience in negotiating, structuring, and closing complex commercial loan transactions
- Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/economics or other business-related field
- Prior experience in Native American Financial Services, Government, Commercial Gaming, Healthcare, and/or General Non-Profit lending
- Thorough knowledge of various software programs including Word and Excel, and the ability to quickly learn additional systems/software
- Legal documentation experience
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Highly developed oral and written communications and presentation skills
