Origination, Analysis, and Execution

The Associate Director – Corporate Specialty and Govt Banking Portfolio Manager will originate, analyze, structure, and execute complex commercial loan transactions. This includes ensuring compliance with credit and regulatory requirements.

Customer Relationships

This position serves as the point person for loan documentation with legal counsel and ongoing credit analysis. The Associate Director will own primary responsibility for the credit and monitoring of the Commercial portfolio risks. They will also assist in optimizing customer relationships, working directly with Relationship Managers, Treasury Management, and other team members to grow fees, deposits, and portfolio revenue.

Risk Management

  • Maintain and confirm credit worthiness of customers.
  • Gather, review, and track appropriate documentation from applicants and clients such as financial statements, covenant compliance, and other due diligence items.
  • Manage delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base, portfolio reviews, specialized reporting, soft exposure annual reviews, criticized loans, etc.

Team Collaboration

The Associate Director will collaborate with the Team Leader, Regional Commercial Management, and Regional Credit Officer. They will also work with Relationship Managers, Treasury Management, and other team members to present practical Huntington financial solutions to customers.

Documentation and Compliance

Legal documentation experience is required. The Associate Director will perform other duties as assigned, including gathering, reviewing, and tracking appropriate documentation from applicants and clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance/economics or other business-related field.
  • 5+ years of Commercial or Corporate Banking Portfolio Management experience, including underwriting.
  • Prior experience in negotiating, structuring, and closing complex commercial loan transactions.
  • Experience in Native American Financial Services, Government, Commercial Gaming, Healthcare, and/or General Non-Profit lending.
  • Thorough knowledge of various software programs including Word and Excel, and the ability to quickly learn additional systems/software.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Highly developed oral and written communications and presentation skills.
