Key Responsibilities
- Aid in application security reviews for services, APIs, and new features.
- Identify, validate, and track security findings from various testing tools.
- Participate in threat modeling and secure design discussions.
- Evaluate security of AI-enabled workflows, thinking like an attacker and defender.
- Perform manual testing of web applications and APIs, focusing on access control, authentication, and secrets handling.
- Contribute to secure SDLC processes, developer guidance, and security tooling improvements.
- Collaborate with engineers to document risks and remediation strategies.
- Support proactive security enhancements and team collaboration to build secure products.
Qualifications & Skills
- Currently pursuing or have practical experience in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
- Foundational knowledge of application security concepts such as OWASP Top 10, API security, and secure coding.
- Ability to read and reason about code in languages like Java, Python, JavaScript, or Go.
- Familiarity with Git, SDLC, and testing/debugging workflows.
- Strong interest in secure software design, cloud architectures, and automation.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical issues clearly.
- Curious, collaborative, and eager to learn how security empowers developers.
- Bonus: experience with LLMs, threat modeling, security tools, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, or cloud environments.
Additional Info: Compensation is $20/hour. The role supports remote work with some in-person options if local. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. and reside in specific states.
