Remodel Maintenance Tech

Bayview Community is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Remodel Technician to help transform and maintain our high-end retirement living spaces. This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced construction professional who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and creating beautiful, move-in-ready homes for residents.

About the role

In this position, you’ll work on apartment remodels, facility upgrades, and renovation projects including carpentry, cabinetry, drywall, painting, tile work, light plumbing and electrical, finish work, and more. We’re looking for someone who can manage multiple projects, lead and support team members, and deliver exceptional results with professionalism and care.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs involving paint, drywall, and carpentry in response to work orders.
• Carries out or assists with building renovations, including refurbishing apartments for new resident move-ins, redecorating common areas, renovating spaces, and installing new equipment.
• Solicits, receives, and analyzes feedback from residents and other customers regarding maintenance services; shares feedback with the team to improve resident satisfaction.
• Modifies processes to enhance resident satisfaction and provides residents with updates on their requests and recommendations.
• Reads and interprets facility blueprints, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
• Manages multiple projects and situations simultaneously.

Requirements

• High school graduate or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.); continuing education in building maintenance or construction preferred.
• Three to five years of experience in construction trades combined with building maintenance experience.
• Strong background and experience in construction.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical/electrical drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate effectively in both oral and written English.
• Working knowledge of hazardous materials and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Understanding of infectious disease transmission, including blood-borne pathogens, and practice of universal precautions.
• Commitment to respecting Residents’ Rights and demonstrating patience, care, and a positive attitude toward elderly, disabled persons, and children.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and correctly.
• Current Washington State driver’s license is desirable.

Pay

$32.00 per hour, non-exempt/hourly.

Schedule

7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday.
